SMAFIN Members

SMAFIN’s core structural element is its members and their broad and active involvement from the early stage. As there are many different stakeholder categories involved in this project, each with different characteristics, priorities and needs, their constructive connection at a national and European level is a high-level necessity and their engagement is a key factor for its success.

SMAFIN community members are representatives from:

Banks, other funding bodies and ESCOs

with their participation they will gain a better understanding of the benefits and risks of energy efficiency investments as well as they will increase their confidence and capacity building on handling these issues, while they will be provided with new financial smart methods for market uptake and normalisation. Furthermore, the focus of SMAFIN on implementation processes can be of potential benefit for the relevant development of their products, services and solutions.

National public authorities

mainly from Ministries of Energy, Finance, Economy, Public works etc., hold decisive power in the process of setting up and implementing the policy framework and for setting and fulfilling the national targets that are derived from European directives and regulations. SMAFIN will create the environment for a permanent dialogue that will act as a constant formatted public consultation, which will support policy making process by providing feedback from key stakeholders, by exchanging best practices from the European wide experience and by providing elaborated recommendations.

Local and Regional authorities

play an important role in SMAFIN Community as they have the responsibility for the provision, adoption, and implementation of energy efficient renovations to their territory. Also, they are responsible for identifying households facing energy poverty and advise on the drafting of energy policy recommendations.

National Associations

namely construction associations, SMEs and industry associations, consumer associations and various service providers, will be invited to be actively involved in the roundtable discussions in order toto share their experiences on energy efficiency financing (barriers, opportunities, and good examples) and tothe deployment of energy efficiency investments recommendations.

Think Tanks and Academia

due to their expertise in advocacy, their experience in shaping new policies and their involvement in relevant research programmes, their contribution to SMAFIN community will benefit all interesting parties.

General public and citizens
